The popular Greek yogurt Chobani is under fire on Twitter by scientists who were not happy with the company’s recent slogan, “Nature got us to 100 calories, not scientists. #howmatters,” when in fact, it did take a lot of scientific expertise to put nature into a pot, according to a June blog by John Coupland in Popular Science. The article analyzes Chobani’s ingredient list for fat-free cherry yogurt and uncovers the use of pasteurization, bacterial fermentation and the blending by trained flavorists reveal there may have been some science used in the Chobani pot.
