The Guardian reports that scientists are testing various spoons to determine their potential for oxidation, which affects how foods taste. Their goal is to create a spoon that not only improves the taste of food but also could potentially aid in reducing sugar content. Of seven metals tested so far, zinc and copper spoons make for the sourest taste while a gold spoon makes for a highly pleasant tasting experience.
